About Jennifer’s Approach
Jennifer is a Registered Social Worker (RSW), which means sessions may be covered by your benefits plan. She offers a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you are truly heard and supported at your own pace.
Jennifer practises Narrative Therapy, rooted in Feminist, Anti-Oppressive, and Harm-Reduction frameworks. She welcomes people of all backgrounds and is passionate about helping clients explore how their experiences shape their sense of self, and supporting them in processing stress, trauma, and life transitions.
Whether you are looking for single-session support, short-term, long-term, or solution-focused counselling, Jennifer tailors her approach to meet your needs. Sessions are available in person in St. Thomas, by phone, or over Zoom.

What to Expect in Your First Session
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. There is no pressure to share more than you are comfortable with — we will move at your pace. Jennifer will ask some questions to understand what brings you in and what you are hoping for, and together you will decide on a direction that feels right.

Many extended health plans cover sessions with a Registered Social Worker (RSW). I offer direct billing through Green Shield Canada, TELUS Health, and many others. I can provide a receipt for any insurers that we are unable to direct bill with.
-
It's an approach that sees you as the expert on your own life. Together we explore the stories you carry about yourself and your experiences, and gently work to loosen the grip of the ones that no longer serve you.
-
I welcome adults navigating disability, caregiving, grief, and life transitions, and I'm especially glad to work with 2SLGBTQIA+ clients, people from the global majority, and people of all sizes, shapes, and abilities.
