Jennifer Surerus
Social Worker, Educator, and Holistic Practitioner
I’m a compassionate and experienced care worker with a Master of Social Work from York University. For nearly two decades, I’ve been dedicated to supporting individuals and families — particularly those navigating disability, care work, and life transitions — with personalized care and genuine advocacy.
I share my expertise as a part-time instructor in the Doula Studies program at Fanshawe College. My background is diverse: I’ve spent over twenty years teaching yoga, practicing energy work, and more than a decade working as a doula. These experiences have shaped my approach to care, allowing me to support people through transitional times while fostering connections between mind, body, and spirit.
My practice specializes in disability-related issues, the experiences of care workers and caregivers, and life transitions. I use Narrative Therapy, rooted in Feminist, Anti-Oppressive, and Harm-Reduction frameworks. This approach creates an inclusive and supportive space for all. I welcome individuals from all backgrounds, including 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, people from the global majority, and people of all sizes, shapes, and abilities.
Whether you’re looking for single-session, short-term, long-term, or solution-focused counselling, I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs. Services are available virtually and in-person at River of Life Rehabilitation in St. Thomas, Ontario.
I'd love to connect if you’re seeking support in a space that honours your experiences and empowers you on your path.

Doula, Childbirth Educator
I grew up in a military family, moving often and learning the value of community. My passion for birth work began during my own pregnancy, leading me to become a doula and childbirth educator. For over 13 years, I have practiced as a doula, offering 2SLGBTQIA+-friendly, full-spectrum, and non-judgmental care. Throughout my career, I have worked in the community in various capacities, supporting individuals and families through their reproductive journeys.
I am an instructor in the Fanshawe Doula Studies program and am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Wilfrid Laurier University. I believe in lifelong learning and am dedicated to providing compassionate, inclusive, and client-centered care. Based in London, Ontario, I serve London, Stratford, and St. Thomas areas.
